(President) Tanzania<\/h4>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t

Lady Justice Imani Daud Aboud is a national of Tanzania. She was elected as Judge of the African Court on Human and Peoples\u2019 Rights in July 2018.She holds Master of Laws (Malta) and Bachelor of Laws (University of Dar es Salaam).Justice Aboud is Judge of the High Court of Tanzania in Dar es Salaam.<\/p>\n

She has held several key positions, including the post of the Assistant Director in the President\u2019s Office (Public Service Management) and the State Attorney. She has represented the Government in various international human rights conferences, seminars and workshops. She was also involved in making periodic reports on Human Rights to UN and other monitoring bodies such as the African Commission on Human and Peoples\u2019 Rights.<\/p>\n

She is a Member of important regional bodies such as the Board of Directors of the International Association of Women Judges (IAWJ), representing African Region;
\nAdvisory Board of Southern African Development Community (SADC) Citizen for Justice (CFJ) based in Malawi; and Member of the Monitoring Team assigned by the United Nations Mechanism for the International Criminal Tribunal (MICT), Arusha, Tanzania, on 1994 Rwandan genocide cases.<\/p>\n

Justice Aboud has also served as a Vice Chairperson in the Independent Review Electoral Commission (IREC or Krigler Commission) in Kenya. The Commission was formed to facilitate the work of the Panel of Eminent Personalities under the leadership of the late Kofi Annan, former UN Secretary General. The Commission\u2019s responsibility was to review the 2007 election process in Kenya.<\/p>\n

Justice Aboud has extensively participated as an expert in various local judicial and human rights committees and institutions.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

(Vice President) Republic of Congo<\/h4>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t

Justice Blaise Tchikaya is a national of Republic of Congo. He was elected Judge of the African Court on Human and Peoples\u2019 Rights in July 2018 for a six-year term.<\/p>\n

He is a Professor and Senior Lecturer in international public law, international litigation procedures and human rights in the Inter-American system and in African Union laws in various European, Caribbean and African Universities.<\/p>\n

He studied at the Marien N\u2019Gouabi University of Brazzaville and later pursued further studies in France. There, he obtained the Advanced Studies Diploma (DEA) in Public Law. In 1992 he obtained \u2018\u2019First Class Honors\u2019\u2019 for his Doctorate in International Public Law at Paris X-Nanterre University supervised by Professor Alain Pellet.<\/p>\n

In 2005, he received Pro Facultate Jurisprudentia Medal of Miskolc University (Hungary). After receiving his CAPA (Certificat d \u2019Aptitude de la Profession d\u2019Avocat) in Paris, he practiced from 2000 to 2006. He is registered by Organisation Pour l\u2019 harmonisation en afrique du droit des affaires (OHADA) since 2002. He also holds a \u201cHabilitation to direct research, HDR\u201d<\/p>\n

Justice Tchikaya was elected member of the African Union Commission on International Law (AUCIL) at the Assembly of the African Union in 2009. In the same year, he became the first President of AUCIL and has been tasked with the responsibility for the operationalization of the new continental body.
\nHe was also the Special Rapporteur on the \u201cMisdeeds of the Trans-Atlantic Slavery against Africa from the perspective of International law\u201d (les m\u00e9faits de l\u2019esclavage transatlantique sur l\u2019Afrique du point de vue du droit international\u201d).<\/p>\n

Justice Tchikaya is author of many articles in international public law. He has published many books, including International Law Jurisprudence 1922 \u2013 2015, which is currently in its seventh edition. He also published in 2004 a reference book on the African Union titled \u201cAfrican Union Law: Principles, Institutions and Jurisprudence\u201d.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

Justice Sacko Modibo <\/strong><\/h2>\r\n\t\t\tAfrican Court Coalition<\/a><\/span><\/span>2022-04-17T23:17:35+03:00<\/span>\t\t\t

Mali<\/h4>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t

Hon. Justice Sacko Modibo is a citizen of the Republic of Mali.<\/p>\n

Judge Modibo holds a Master\u2019s degree in Law from the Faculty of Legal and Political Sciences (Mali) and four other university degrees in law obtained at the Ahmed Baba University (Mali), the Jean Moulin 3 University (France) and the Nice Sophia Antipolis University (France). He obtained a doctorate in 2019 at l\u2019Institut de P\u00e9dagogie Universitaire in Mali. His doctoral thesis is entitled: \u201cFighting human rights violations in times of armed conflict: the case of Mali\u201d. He is also the author of several publications.<\/p>\n

He has undertaken several professional trainings, notably in the field of human rights and humanitarian issues, gender and peace support operations, as well as the prosecution and fight against money laundering and terrorism financing.<\/p>\n

Judge Modibo currently works at the National Financial Intelligence Unit as a member magistrate. Prior to his appointment to this position in November 2020, he was Technical Advisor in charge of human rights and public liberties at the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights of Mali,<\/p>\n

Judge Modibo has held several other positions in the course of his career, including head of the transitional justice unit of the Justice, Prevention and Reconciliation Project at Lawyers Without Borders Canada and head of strategic litigation at the same organization.<\/p>\n
