The African Court Coalition secretariat paid a courtesy visit to the office of the new Judge President of the African Court on Human and Peoples\u2019 Rights, Hon. Justice Sacko Modibo on 20 June 2025. During the visit, the Coalition delegates congratulated the new Judge President and his Vice, Lady Justice Bensaoula Chafika for being elected to lead the Bureau of the Court for a two-year term.<\/p>

The Coalition also reiterated its commitment to continue supporting the work of the African Court through its work that among others, include working towards enhancing the implementation of decisions of the African Court by State Parties, as well as universal ratification of the Protocol to the African Charter on Human and Peoples\u2019 Rights on the Establishment of an African Court on Human and Peoples\u2019 Rights (the African Court Protocol) and deposit of Article 34 (6) Declaration by State Parties to allow direct access to the African Court for African citizens.<\/p>

The new Judge President assured the Coalition of the continued cooperation from the Court to ensure the continued effectiveness of the African Court. Also present in the meeting were the Registrar of the African Court, Dr. Robert Eno and the Deputy Registrar Mrs. Grace Wakio-Kakai and other senior officials of the Court.<\/p>

During the visit, the Coalition presented to the Judge President and the Registrar, its Report of the 2025 Stakeholders\u2019 Platform<\/a><\/span> that took place from 30 January to 3 February 2025 on the margins of the 76th<\/sup> Ordinary Session of the African Court on Human and Peoples\u2019 Rights.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

FR-VER.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>

Le secr\u00e9tariat de la Coalition pour la Cour Africaine a effectu\u00e9 une visite de courtoisie au bureau du nouveau Pr\u00e9sident de la Cour Africaine des Droits de l’Homme et des Peuples, l’Honorable Juge Sacko Modibo, le 20 juin 2025. Au cours de cette visite, les d\u00e9l\u00e9gu\u00e9s de la Coalition ont f\u00e9licit\u00e9 le nouveau Pr\u00e9sident et sa Vice-Pr\u00e9sidente, la Juge Bensaoula Chafika, pour leur \u00e9lection \u00e0 la t\u00eate du Bureau de la Cour pour un mandat de deux ans.<\/p>

La Coalition a \u00e9galement r\u00e9it\u00e9r\u00e9 son engagement \u00e0 continuer de soutenir le travail de la Cour Africaine \u00e0 travers ses actions qui comprennent, entre autres, l’am\u00e9lioration de la mise en \u0153uvre des d\u00e9cisions de la Cour Africaine par les \u00c9tats Parties, ainsi que la ratification universelle du Protocole \u00e0 la Charte Africaine des Droits de l’Homme et des Peuples relatif \u00e0 la cr\u00e9ation d’une Cour Africaine des Droits de l’Homme et des Peuples (le Protocole de la Cour Africaine) et le d\u00e9p\u00f4t de la D\u00e9claration pr\u00e9vue \u00e0 l’article 34 (6) par les \u00c9tats membres pour permettre aux citoyens africains un acc\u00e8s direct \u00e0 la Cour Africaine.<\/p>

Le nouveau Pr\u00e9sident a assur\u00e9 la Coalition de la coop\u00e9ration continue de la Cour pour garantir l’efficacit\u00e9 constante de la Cour Africaine. \u00c9taient \u00e9galement pr\u00e9sents \u00e0 la r\u00e9union le Greffier de la Cour Africaine, Dr. Robert Eno, la Greffi\u00e8re adjointe, Mme Grace Wakio-Kakai, ainsi que d’autres hauts fonctionnaires de la Cour.<\/p>
